Vegas Vacation

Warning: The post is extremely long with lots of pictures, read ahead at your own risk:
We went to Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago and we had a great time despite some setbacks...like the weather being only 55 degrees and windy and cold which is so unlike Vegas and Rylie falling and having to get staples in her head the first full day we were there. Luckily, the first evening we arrived we were able to swim for a couple of hours because the next 3 days were crazy. So, here's what we did:
Monday-We drove for 6 hours and it was actually not as bad as we thought it might be with 2 little ones. We got there and swam for a couple of hours, then chilled in the hotel room. We had the best room...it was 1000 sq. feet, there was a huge jacuzzi tub and a shower with a steam option. There was a sofa bed in the living room with a huge t.v. and so the girls had that room, then we had our own bedroom with our own t.v. It was the perfect set up for the nighttime situation. And surprisingly, the girls slept great the entire time!

Tuesday-The ER visit...after Rylie hurt her head we had to go to the ER and she had to have 3 staples put in the back of her head. It was a traumatic experience and we spent most of the day there, I guess it made us feel better that the weather was not great outside. That evening we decided to go to the MGM Grand to see the Lion Habitat and to the M&M factory.

Wednesday-The weather was still not great, so we decided to go look around at some of the fun stuff...we went to the Silverton casino to see the massive aquarium they have. The girls were loving it! They would put their hands on the glass to try to touch the fish and Rylie would follow them around. We also went to the Tropicana and Curt and I ended up winning tickets to the Extreme Magic Show with Dirk Arthur. So, we bought a ticket for Jacie and we went. It was not the greatest show, but it was okay. The girls were mesmerized by the tigers and the magical effects. We also went back to the M&M factory to see the 3-D movie they have they weren't showing it anymore when we went on Tuesday. We also went to Treasure Island to see the show, but it was cancelled because of the wind, but luckily the Mirage volcano eruption wasn't cancelled and the girls were so scared of it at first, but afterward they kept asking to go back.

Thursday-We decided to go eat at a buffet and go to Circus Circus. We were going to go play in the adventure dome, but most of the rides were for older kids...our kids just weren't tall enought to ride very many rides, so we watched some of the circus acts and the girls got to play lots ofgames and won some stuffed animals. There were some people that ended up giving each of them another one, so they couldn't have been happier. That night we went on the Fremont Street Experience tour offered through our hotel and we went to see the shark tank at the Golden Nugget and watched the Fremont Street big screen show (not that exciting compared to others we've seen in the past..it was all about advertising), but still fun for the kids.

Friday-The last day, it actually was pretty nice weather...yay! We ended up checking out and going swimming. We stayed for most of the day and decided to drive home later since we were just excited to finally have some nice, sunny, warm, more like Vegas, weather. The drive home was okay, a little bit more difficult since we weren't really anticipating returning to the cold weather of Salt Lake. But, the girls slept more of the time and we just grabbed something quick to eat. We made it home by midnight.

I haven't been to Vegas in years. But this makes me want to go back. I didn't know it could be so kid friendly. Cute pics!

Yeah! It looks like you guys had a great time, despite the weather and ER visit. (crazy) I have never been and like your friend said before, I didn't know it was so kid friendly!
