Differences can be wonderful!

I just wanted to add this post to say I am so glad that kids come with their own little personalities and I am so grateful for those differences! We had a really difficult 15 months getting Jacie to potty train completely, in fact, it was just 2-3 weeks ago that she finally got the #2 in the potty handled by herself. She got the #1 thing down this past summer, but she would still ask for a diaper to "do her business"! She still loves diapers and wants one on occasionally, but it has definitely gotten much better since she finally mastered that skill.

So, imagine my amazement when Rylie acted like she was going to go pee before getting into the shower with me and I asked her if she needed to go and then, she climbed onto the big toilet and went all by herself. This was on her 2nd birthday. Since then, we've had a couple of accidents, but not many and she does the peeing and pooping thing without really needed to be reminded. She hates diapers and actually does the bucking bronco thing every night when we try to put one on her while she's asleep. The miraculous thing is that this past week she's beennreally sick this... a really nasty gastrointestinal bug...and she still has been making it to the potty (most of the time)!

I think the differences just make life so much more fun and I think this occassion helped me in deciding that it might be okay to have another baby. I was so turned off by the idea when I still had 2 kiddos in diapers, but I think the idea of another one is a little more doable now. If I could just figure out a way to be pregnant and not have to go through all the miserable things that accompany pregnancy, I'd like the idea even more!
