Thanks to some help from little sister and a playdough lid, Jacie's 1st tooth came out yesterday! When I looked at it, it seemed a bit different than other lost teeth I'd seen in my past...it seemed so much longer than normal and it had a pointy end. I also thought that it seemed a little early for her to lose a tooth, she just turned 5 this month. And she never had any wiggly teeth in her mouth, so I was wondering how it happened. Then, I saw her mouth...yuck! There was a straight line through her gum...it had been ripped out! She was so excited about it and she couldn't stop talking about how excited she was to have the Tooth Fairy come visit. Soon afterward I found her with Rylie in the playroom saying "Here Rylie, put this in your mouth and I'll pull it out"...my quick response was "No...you can't try to pull your teeth out and no more using your teeth to open things." The tooth clearly wasn't ready to come out and later last night she became really upset about it saying that she wanted her tooth to be put back in. But, it was a little too late for that.
So, the story of how it happened was that she had something in her mouth and Rylie ripped it out of her mouth. She was complaining afterward that her tooth hurt, but Curt looked at her teeth and didn't see anything suspicious. He even tried to wiggle different teeth and none were loose and she kept saying different teeth hurt so he figured it was okay. Then, Jacie and Rylie were at our neighbor's house and she told me when I went to pick her up that Jacie had been tyring to pry a playdough lid off with her teeth and the
tooth came out.
Jacie didn't want the Tooth Fairy to take her tooth so she decided she wanted to write her a note and ask her if she could keep her tooth since it was so special. I helped her write the note seen above...I sounded out the words and she wrote the sounds she could hear. If you can't read the above note, this is what it says "Tooth Fairy, This is my first tooth. I want to keep it. It is special to me. Jacie" Then, at about 1:00 in the morning we heard Jacie screaming and sobbing. It seemed like the Tooth Fairy came to visit and left her money, but took her tooth and she was so traumatized and upset. It took us a while, but luckily the tooth was found safe and sound under Rylie's head (they had decided to sleep together in Jacie's bed). Jacie felt much better after that and even offered to give her Tooth Fairy money to Rylie since she protected her tooth from being taken away. Funny girl! What an eventful first tooth losing experience!!!

Yeah to first lost tooth. At our house we have the American and German tooth Fairy so there is a whole process the kids have to go through. Memories are great though. Cute pictures!
