Last Thursday the girls and I went to Discovery Gateway. A definite favorite in our home and since we have a membership we go all the time. When we got there they were having a special reading of The Cat in The Hat by Thing 1 (okay, it was one of the workers dressed up like Thing 1) and the girls each got their very own red and white striped hat. They tired of that pretty quickly though because, of course, they'd much rather run around and play with stuff instead of listening to a book. So, they played and played and played. Then, we went to make slime in the Little Scientists class. They loved it and it was so easy to make...just mix one part glue (mix in a few drops of color and mix 1st) and one part liquid starch. Then, just mix until it starts to make the slime/putty. The girls loved playing in the glue, Rylie was a little hesitant at first, but then loved it! After the class, we went to go get a sandwich at Subway and then, went back to play some more. I have to admit that I love going there and letting the kids go crazy and make a mess there instead of in our home!!!

Rylie loved the ball area...she climbed in here and I'm not sure if it was okay or not, but she was having a blast! It made me remember those fun ball pits they used to have for kids to play in. Those were the days!

Such a fun place. My little guy loves Suess. He wears his cat in the hat shirt, and hat and carried horton and Fox in socks around the house. He told me he wants to be Dr. Suess when he grows up.
I love this place! We had a membership last year and went ALL the time! I agree about letting them make a mess there instead of at home!!! Can't wait to see you on Saturday!

I know, what is this world coming to, that we can't even have ball pits anymore. Because who knows what psychos put down at the bottom! Those were the days, indeed!!
